This title is based in 1951, and is played through with the gamer taking control of Sgt. Nathan Hale. Sgt. Hale represents the US Army Rangers who land in England to retrieve a weapon, which it is claimed can be used against the alien threat, known as the Chimera. However, upon landing, the entire unit becomes infected with the virus. Hale too is infected but gains some properties of the Chimera, including the ability to re-generate. The game follows Hale as he attempts to liberate Britain from the clutches of the Chimera with the help of a resistance group.

The game features an extensive weapon set, with one human set and one Chimera set. Within these, the different weapons force alternative strategies to be utilised depending on the special ability of the weapon. This gives Resistance – Fall of Man a different approach to other first person shooters.
