Halo almost single handily made the original Xbox a contender in Microsoft’s first console war. Years later, and with three Halo titles now selling millions the world over, the rich Halo universe has been expanded with Halo Wars. UNSC soldiers are at a player’s command - as well as classic Halo vehicles such as the Warthog – as the fight against the Covenant begins.

With the PC having complete dominance over the strategy genre with its mouse and keyboard set-up, Halo War was always designed with the Xbox 360 in mind. Players have been given a concise, original control scheme designed to work with an Xbox 360 controller. The staples of the strategy genre have all been implemented, asking players to carefully plan their attacks on the battle field, pick solider types equipped for each situation and fight against the Grunts and Elites of the Halo world. Players can also choose to switch sides and fight with the Covenant if they choose.

Halo Wars uses the strong background of Halo to great effect, scaling the complex controls of PC strategy down to the Xbox 360 controller.
